About the Work

Only a few encountered, and even fewer survived, the maddening influence of wicked Grimoires, or so the legends say… Grimoires are compendiums of hexes, alchemy, and demonology. My string quartet draws on Slavic folklore and unfolds in three parts, foregrounding this cursed book as a vessel for mystical knowledge and power that exacts a haunting psychological toll. To the occult, such volumes were both a blessing and a curse, offering supposed access to the arcane for a price of madness.
