About the Work
This electroacoustic aria for soprano and ensemble was inspired by Greek mythology and Penrose tiles, which result in self-similarity not unlike that of historical cycles of human violence. My music comments on contemporary apartheid and war through disjoint contours, dry articulations, and a narrow four-pitch-class set mapped onto sonic projectiles.
